Safflower Oil

INCI:

Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil

Function in our formulas:

Lipid/Emollient

Where does it come from?

Safflower Seed Oil comes from the seeds of the Safflower plant - a quite pretty bright yellow plant.

What is it?

Safflower Seed Oil is incredibly high in linoleic acid (omega-6), with much smaller percentages of palmitic and oleic acids. It also contains alpha-tocopherol (vitamin E). The really high percentage of linoleic acid is a double edged sword that also makes Safflower oil prone to oxidation giving it a short shelf life, so it is always paired with an addition of Vitamin E to the formula.

How do we use it?

The incredibly high linoleic acid content makes this a great oil for oily and acne prone skin. We feature Safflower Oil in our formulas that need to address oil balance, breakouts, and overall skin health. Our airless bottle and super fresh formulas mean your safflower oil will always be of the highest efficacy.
