Rosehip Oil

INCI:

Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Seed Oil

Function in our formulas:

Lipid/Emollient

Where does it come from?

Rosehip Seed Oil comes from the seeds of the dog-rose plant. Ours is the Rosa Canina type, where as some other Rosehip oils can be sourced from Rosa Eglanteria or Rose Rubiginosa. Rosa Canina has been the mostly widely studied.

What is it?

Rosehip Seed Oil is a nutrient rich oil, primarily composed of linolenic (omega-3), linoleic (omega-6), and oleic acids. It has high levels of carotenoids (pro-vitamin A), vitamin E & C, lycopene, and beta-carotene - basically lots of vitamins and antioxidants.

How do we use it?

Because of the higher content of linolenic and linoleic acids, as well as the vitamin and antioxidant rich composition, Rosehip Oil can be great for pretty much all skin types. It features in most of our formulas for more mature skin, as well formulas which may be addressing an impaired skin barrier, or more sensitive skin types.
